As Amazon’s profits increase, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy continues to follow in Jeff Bezos’s footsteps by continuing the practice of worker exploitation. Even during tragedies, like the December 10 tornado, which eviscerated an Amazon fulfillment center in Edwardsville, IL. Workers were instructed not to leave and to continue working. Six workers died. We remain committed to working with our partners to help the workers affected by this tragedy. We will continue our groundbreaking campaigns to educate the public and organize communities to stand up to the damage Amazon is causing our communities and the environment.

Howard Schultz, Starbucks

When Starbucks baristas in Buffalo, NY started organizing to fight for better wages, benefits, and health protections, they were met with an onslaught of anti-union messaging and scare tactics from former CEO Howard Schultz and other company executives. Jobs With Justice affiliate in Buffalo, the Coalition for Economic Justice, pounded the pavement with community members and customers to show solidarity with the baristas. And we celebrated this December when one of the Starbucks locations voted to form a union!

Sonoma County California Winery Owners

Wildfires continue to ravage California, decimate their surroundings, and create a national pollution crisis. Meanwhile, winery and vineyard workers are still required to go to work without proper health and safety protections just so their employer can maximize profit. In Sonoma County, California, North Bay Jobs With Justice provides these farmworkers with critical health equipment while helping organize events to educate the community around the harm these wineries are causing. Jobs With Justice will continue to support these workers as they demand a safe, dignified life.
