John,

President Biden and Democrats in Congress have
accomplished a lot this year. We passed an historic rescue plan
to confront the pandemic, made bold investments in our
infrastructure, renewed our nation’s commitment to combating
climate change and provided critical financial relief to
struggling families.

But that’s not enough.

We are running out of time to seriously combat the climate
crisis. We must address structural inequities in our economy and
gaps in our social safety net. And meanwhile, we must defend
democracy itself and protect voting rights. It’s a big but
critically necessary agenda. And the only way we’re going to get
it done is to have truly progressive champions fighting for us in
the Congress.

As we reach the end of the year, I need your help to meet our
goal for the important Federal Election Commission (FEC) filing
deadline on December 31. This is the last major deadline before
the election year and I still need to raise $2,000 to meet our
campaign goal.

This year, and especially the last two weeks, have taught us a
lot about what it means to be a Democrat.

We started the year believing that we could achieve great things
with a White House, Senate, and House controlled by Democrats.
Unfortunately, we found out there are a few in our party who
still want to put Big Pharma, Big Coal, and other special
interests before the good of the American people.

What’s the lesson learned?

It’s not enough to just elect people with a “D” after their name.
We need leaders who are 100% committed to the values we hold dear
— from protecting the environment to upholding our sacred right
to vote to helping struggling families thrive.

That’s the kind of leader I’ve been, and it’s the kind of leader
I will continue to be for as long as I serve you in Congress. But
I’m going to need your help right now to stay there. Can I count
