When I stepped into the role of interim executive director of DC Jobs with Justice I knew I had big shoes to fill
Dear Friend
When I stepped into the role of interim executive director of DC Jobs with Justice I knew I had big shoes to fill. From our founding 20 years ago our coalition has been steered by some of the most committed activists in the DC Region.
This year DC Jobs with Justice celebrated 20 years of struggle for working people and as part of that celebration we collected stories from community organizers, labor leaders and activists who understand the unique role DC JWJ plays in the fight for a more just DC. If you haven't already you can watch our collection of stories here
Our mission is the same as it was 20 years ago:
We bring workers and community members into the same fights, showing that our struggles are all connected
We take on corporate power, from Walmart to Verizon and many more.
We bring community power and connectedness to today's fights from tenants rights to excluded workers
We fight for a more just and equitable Washington DC where historically marginalized communities can live in safety and comfort.
