Friend: Beginning in August and peaking in late October, Northwest Syria experienced its worst COVID-19 outbreak since the pandemic began. Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières’ (MSF) teams quickly scaled up operations in response, but limited hospital capacity and oxygen supplies made it impossible to care for every patient in need.
The recent outbreak of COVID-19 in Syria followed a significant decrease in humanitarian aid funding that has drastically reduced access to clean water and sanitation services for more than 3 million people.
Even prior to the pandemic, the health system in northern Syria was struggling to respond to basic medical needs and relied on humanitarian aid. We need your support to help us respond to the ongoing pandemic and provide lifesaving care in Syria and around the world.
P.S. If your year-end gift and our email have crossed paths, we sincerely thank you for your generosity!
