Watch the our
Congressional Leadership Development Program video

Dear John,

In 1988, MPAC started as a seed of hope. Now three decades later, because of your sacrifice and unwavering support, that seed has flourished and new generations are bearing its fruit. Almost a decade ago, MPAC took an intentional step to nurture development through our pipeline to public leadership; The Congressional Leadership Development Program (CLDP).

This past summer, we welcomed our largest cohort ever!

Through CLDP, we have actively recruited, nurtured, and developed brilliant young minds who have grown and achieved important milestones for our community. Now in its 6th year, our program aims to foster pride in government service, create a pipeline for young American Muslims to careers in public service, and work from the inside on issues affecting us most. This year our fellows drafted policy and helped their offices navigate, possibly, the most consequential congressional session in recent history.

We are halfway to our goal of $50,000 for our year-end campaign! Will you support our work in creating the future leaders of tomorrow with a donation today?

With your support, this is how we are putting young American Muslims in positions to succeed:

  • Our Congressional Leadership Development Program (CLDP) hosted its largest cohort to date, doubling our impact in the halls of Congress. We placed 19 CLDP fellows in 3 Senate offices, 15 Congressional offices, and an agency office. During their time on the Hill, many of our fellows played a role in framing major policy issues and were meaningful contributors to one of the most active congressional sessions in recent history.

  • We’ve invested in the long game – this year those investments culminated in the first-ever Eid on the Hill through our relationship with Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer. We provided a home for American Muslim elected officials, staffers, and fellows to celebrate one of the most joyous of occasions where they work: the United States Capitol, the seat of our democracy.

  • Ensuring American Muslim women have an equal footing in a male-dominated environment, our fellows held their 2nd annual “Hijab on the Hill”. This gathering on the steps of the Capitol drew women in government, congressional staff, and key champion Congresswomen.

These incredible young leaders, because of CLDP, have secured permanent staff roles like Asmarah Yacoub with Senator Feinstein and others like Shamus Malik, City Councilmember in Akron, OH.  Through first-hand legislative experience, we are institutionalizing our leadership pipeline to public service.  Historically, Hill Internships have often been a privilege that is only affordable by some. CLDP creates a sustainable and vibrant pipeline to public service that is accessible to everyone.

As we cultivate the next generation of American Muslim leaders, we ask you to renew this investment in our collective future. Will you help support our work creating pathways for future generations of leaders with a $100 or more donation today?
