Hi, John, I’m Steve, Thomas’ dad, who you most likely know as Tom, the guy running to defeat Ron Johnson.
When Thomas and his two sisters were growing up we began a family Christmas tradition. Each year I took them shopping one by one. Our task: buy presents for the siblings and Mom. Being the ‘80s, ten dollars bought four gifts.
They had to budget their money and pick presents. We went in and out of stores, looking, comparing prices, searching for the perfect gifts. Wrapped, these presents went under the Christmas tree for opening Christmas Eve. It was so fun watching the gift opening. In many ways, they were more excited to see their gifts opened than to receive their own.
Thomas continues to give all he has and all he can muster for his campaign, as he did at Christmas growing up. It’s his nature. And he rejoices at your generosity to him and his campaign. I hope you, too, feel satisfaction and pride in your contributions to Nelson for Wisconsin. His is a noble cause: to restore government to the people, especially to the little guy. It must be said clearly, “Our democracy is not for sale to the highest bidder. Government is not supposed to enrich the already wealthy.”
Consider chipping in today to help my son take on Ron Johnson and give political power back to the little guy.
Leaders like Thomas are willing and able to lead the crusade for better government. But first they must be elected.
Can you help make that happen?

Sincerely,
Steve, Dad, and if you read my diploma, the Rev. Dr. Steven M. Nelson
