Subject: An update as DAGA’s co-chair

Friend, as one of DAGA’s co-chair’s I wanted to give you an update of where we are in our efforts to elect Dem AGs across the country next year.

There are more than 30 AG seats up for grabs in 2022, and many are AG elections that we must win in order to protect our democracy and our communities.

Five of those races – in Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Colorado, and in my home state of Nevada – have Democratic incumbent AGs and are in battleground states. Four of them were seats that Dem AGs flipped from red to blue, and it’s imperative that we hold onto them next year.

So what does this all mean? It means that with so many races up for grabs, Republicans are going to funnel as much money as they can to try and elect far-right GOP AGs who will push anti-voting rights, anti-choice, and anti-public safety agendas – and those battleground seats like mine are going to be their top priority.

That’s why DAGA started the 2022 Incumbent Protection Fund. We need to support as many incumbent Dem AGs as we can by reaching out to potential voters early and working to build out campaigns that can withstand millions of dollars of brutal, false Republican attack ads.
