Dear team,

Virginia’s new proposed district maps have been released, and it doesn’t look good for my Senate district. Granted, these maps are still tentative pending the state Supreme Court’s approval, but at this point, our district is at risk of getting redder for 2023.

Which means we need to build our campaign fund [[link removed]] as much as possible to preserve Democratic control of the Senate. The work for re-election begins now , as we contact new and current voters across the district to make sure they hear our message about supporting public schools, controlling the costs of healthcare, protecting working families, and so much more.

This new map will likely have a long-lasting impact if we don’t do everything we can to keep our seats, team. We’ve seen how the GOP has used power at the state level across the country—from abortion bans to vote suppression to firearm proliferation. We have to do everything possible to keep rational, service-minded Democrats in office to ensure reason remains in the General Assembly.

If you can, I encourage you to donate to our 2023 re-election fund today [[link removed]] , team, so we can overcome our electoral disadvantage and defend our Senate majority.

Thank you,

Sen. Ghazala Hashmi (SD-10)
