<[link removed]>Friend,

The results are in, the people of New York City passed ranked choice voting!

New York City voters showed confidence in growing evidence that ranked choice voting can strengthen local democracy, eliminate the spoiler effect in large fields of candidates, and allow fresh energy to enter races while making sure that candidates who win do so with majority support from the community.

With all precincts reporting, ranked choice voting has won with a landslide victory margin of 73.1%! <[link removed]>

It’s a reflection of the broad support earned by ranked choice voting during the campaign from across the city and across the spectrum. Congratulations to our local allies at the Rank the Vote campaign for the incredible victory, <[link removed]> and to our national reform allies.

There has never been a better time for ranked choice voting. When American voters learn about it and use it in practice, they like it because it’s a fairer system then the one they are used to.

Today voters in Easthampton, MA also passed ranked choice voting for their city elections. Voters in a record 11 cities used it today, the most ever in the United States. Democrats in four states have decided to use ranked choice voting in their presidential primaries next year.

Ranked choice voting is a great first step to fixing America’s broken political system. It’s a huge victory for the movement that the largest city in the country now has ranked choice voting for primaries and special elections.

ICYMI: We were in New York City last week and captured the enthusiasm New Yorkers had for ranked choice voting <[link removed][0]=68.ARAwjqvVyXNQLWa7IJxCok1NtlJliSZRybccd2kVZHrYIzzZA1ZVWLbPQLgt2DurVcPh3v7nu4b9f0unNFJnJcaHyYFwWLnGzpmn3WSxsUcbJdeLkoqEBgiSDqR-sX53E_kDsIW33TeZGStfMoZ6waiomJ7OboPUtJEQqCbP5h3NhKyBE-xp-pHISmv31zsHRojZ_EM1X5k10Z0iQ-RoD5weUfU6-le1UpGws-mif_akxNLLVPEOMZwy4yt9MbFquHsFM2Wn5-Qf32QaxgL8M8CoMYj5_kHB_-mx7pBqcrOBKBiT8tx8f1WZjHm3wTujAN0qbQD99g5lFwiQ67pgTyI2RGJjiOO73kpMhLFtMpt911Vi2zfyiKwTfT8&__tn__=-R>.

We’ll be giving supporters more chances to get involved nationally and in their community. If ranked choice voting can make it in New York City, it can make it anywhere!
