We've accomplished so much together this year — from helping lift children out of poverty with the Child Tax Credit to passing legislation to transform our infrastructure and take on climate change, to electing strong Democrats up and down the ballot.

We started out this year with Democratic majorities in the House and Senate, and President Joe Biden in the White House.

That made way for the American Rescue Plan — helping us get shots in arms, support small businesses and rural and Tribal communities, expand the Child Tax Credit, and give New Mexico families much-needed economic relief.

Back in July, President Biden signed into law my bipartisan legislation to cut methane emissions — marking the most significant action Congress has taken on climate in over a decade.

Most recently, we passed the historic Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act — sending $3.7 billion-plus to New Mexico. With this legislation, we will finally have the funds to make necessary repairs and updates to our bridges and roads, expand access to clean drinking water for rural and Tribal communities, and care for our planet for future generations.

And the work will continue into the new year. I’m proud to be leading the bipartisan Recovering America’s Wildlife Act and will keep working to help enact once-in-a-generation investments in tackling climate change — including moving forward with my plans to reimburse folks who electrify their homes. And I’ll be at the front of the fight to ensure every child has a fair shot at success, cut costs for New Mexico’s families, and protect women’s access to healthcare.

On the campaign side, we invested $30,000 in county Democratic parties in every region of New Mexico, helping local parties train volunteers and fuel down-ballot races. We also jumped into last month's local elections and helped elect 16 endorsed candidates, who will make meaningful change everywhere from the mayor's office to the city council to the soil and water conservation board.

We're doing everything we can to power candidates in battleground districts and states to victory and protect our Democratic congressional majorities, too. That includes supporting Gabe Vasquez's race in the 2nd Congressional District in New Mexico, and Mark Kelly, Raphael Warnock, and Maggie Hassan's toss-up Senate races.
