Max's recent warning is absolutely correct. Older Americans cannot take their earned Social Security benefits for granted. Action is needed because the threats to earned benefits are not going away.

And Americans' overwhelming reliance on this program's benefits — money that you and millions of other people have paid into and earned during your working life — has underscored the importance of this promise.
