I'm reaching out to ask you for a $5 contribution before our final FEC fundraising deadline of 2021. Things have changed in my race, so I hope you'll let me shed some light on why your support is so critical.

Last week, we got new district lines in CA-49. While we were thrilled that the new CA-49 maintains the core of our current district, it did get slightly more Republican than before, and we’ll need to communicate with tens of thousands of new voters.

I'm more than confident in my record and our team's ability to do this outreach. But that fact is that national Republicans are more emboldened than ever before to take this seat. Three Republicans have already announced campaigns, and the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has me listed as a “top target.”

If we tally a strong end of year fundraising number, it will go a long way in stopping national super PACs from attacking me. They'll see our campaign as too formidable and not worth the expense. That's why this goal is so important:
