Here's what you shared when we asked for support letters to LGBTQ youth.

Dear Friend,

I was moved by all the heartfelt submissions of supportive letters for LGBTQ youth struggling this holiday season.

The Trevor Project community showed up in a big way. We don't take it lightly that folks were willing to share such personal things with us.

Here are just a few submissions that stood out to me:

“I know you don't know me, but I love you. You are an amazing, wondrous person, and the world is a better place with you in it. You will reach a place, if you haven't already, where you find your people, and find yourself, and can share your gifts and light with everyone around you. Until then, there are people who can help, and who can listen, and who will love you for who you are, whoever that is.”

“You are loved, you are seen, you are important, and most of all you are you!!! Never forget that... every single day.”

“Never ever wonder if you are loved, believe me when I say you are. My heart goes out to you, especially during this holiday season when I know things can be tough. I love who you are even if you are a stranger to me. And you really aren't a stranger, for you are me and I am you. And we are loved. We got this my friend. Be safe and take care. We're going to be alright.”

"Hey, I know the holidays are getting close and not everyone has a safe space and being around unsupportive parents doesn’t help. But just know there are people out who will love and support you no matter what happens. It might not seem like it right now but I promise you it does get better.

Happy holidays :) ♡︎ xoxo"

“I wish I could hug you. You are amazing. You are unique. You deserve the best out of life and I sincerely hope that you get it. I may not know you but I love you and I want you to thrive.”

“...As a mother of an amazing 12 year old trans son I often wonder how his young community is doing each and every day. Wanted to tell whoever is listening that you are wonderful and cared for now at Christmas and each and every day. My son is young now but as he gets older will need you out there doing well and finding your way to happiness and success with him! You got this! Be you, be true. With much love this holiday.”

“Please know that there are many adults who support you and want to help you through this tough period of adolescence. You are NOT alone, and you ARE loved by many. You are a phenomenal person who is making the world a better place. We need every little bit of you to make this world change into something better for all of us. Thank you for being you.”
And this is just the beginning. You'd be amazed by how impactful these messages are, Friend. I’m so grateful to all who took time out of their day to write a letter and for being supportive of The Trevor Project. You're helping build a safer, more-inclusive world, where LGBTQ people see a bright future for themselves.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Stay awesome,
Josh Weaver
