We are nearing the end of 2021 and our democracy is at stake.
This year alone, 19 states have passed at least 33 laws that make it harder for Americans to vote. The folks most targeted and harmed by these anti-democratic policies are often Black communities - from voter roll purges in 2020 to poll closures in 2021.
At Groundwork Project, we are committed to protecting democracy by empowering hyperlocal community organizers, advocates and activists like our first Official Groundwork Partners: the Black Voter Impact Initiative, Mississippi Workers’ Center, and United Women of Color. Friday at midnight is our first end-of-year filing since launching Groundwork Project. Our 2021 finances need to send a clear message about the strength of our movement and our ability to protect democracy in 2022.
