Hey Friend,

Remember sometime back in March or April, when I first emailed you about some scary anti-voter developments in Texas?

To be honest, Friend, to me, that feels like several lifetimes ago at this point. This year, month after month, in anti-Texan session after anti-Texan session, our Texas progressive coalition played dodgeball with Texas Republicans’ worst impulses. For a whole lot of folks, myself included, it felt like we were constantly under siege -- every day, they were either taking away our right to vote, putting at risk the health and safety of trans kids, or gutting our basic right to abortion.

It’s been a very long, very enraging, very harmful year in the Texas legislature. But I want to take a minute to send out a big, heartfelt thank you for sticking it out with us and standing up for our communities. I know how exhausting and, frankly, how devastating it’s been. But the fact that you keep fighting means so much.

Right now, however -- I’m writing to you with some good news: this year, we finally have the chance to do something about it. So I’m asking you to jump back into the fight:

You know what they say, Friend -- the best inventions are born out of necessity. We’ve been duking it out with Greg Abbott and Texas Republicans for the last 12 months, and the silver lining is that our coalition has gotten stronger, more resilient, and pretty damn effective. Now, we’ve got to take what we’ve built and repurpose it -- not just to fend off Abbott’s attacks, but to defeat him once and for all.

Our Democratic coalition became a well-oiled machine this year. And because of that, we are poised to kick some ass this election season. Friend, can I count on you to help us hit the ground running, and rush your first $7 to our 2022 Victory Fund today?
