John,
As Social Security Works’ Executive Director, a big part of my job is coming up with strategies to move people like Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema to supporting Social Security and Medicare, and make clear when Mitt Romney or Mitch McConnell scheme to destroy our earned benefits.
Sometimes, those strategies get expensive. Like when I had the idea to take multiple billboard trucks on a tour of West Virginia to pressure Joe Manchin to support the Build Back Better Act.
We’ve spent more than $30,000 keeping those trucks on the road over the past few weeks, but they’ve been critical in getting coverage in West Virginia’s largest newspaper, and on the local news. West Virginia organizers on the ground asked us to keep the trucks going into January… which will cost even more.
We’ve taken a leap of faith that we can raise the money we need to mobilize the trucks because we know we can count on our members. Will you become a 2022 Member of Social Security Works by making a donation of $5 or more today?
Read Michael’s email below for more on our membership program.
Thanks,

John,
It’s hard to believe, but 2021 is almost behind us.
We have big plans for next year: Getting the Build Back Better Act across the finish line, passing the Social Security 2100 Act to expand benefits for millions of Americans, and supporting Social Security champions in the 2022 midterm elections!
We can only do this with the support of Social Security Works members. Will you make a donation of $5 or more to become a 2022 Member of Social Security Works and power our campaigns to win?
Becoming a member means:
-
Exclusive messages from Social Security champions
-
Input on new strategies and tactics to protect and expand Social Security
-
Participate in and support Social Security Works' electoral program, which raised more than $125,000 directly for candidates in 2020
Make a membership donation of $5 or more to power our work in 2022!
Thanks,
Michael Phelan Social Security Works
