Greetings from the Sunshine State!

My name is Sara Quezada. I am an undocumented single mother living in Florida who was the part of the UndocuParents wellness support group this year.

Supporting Immigrants Rising means creating these unique spaces for undocumented moms like me to find community, would you consider making a donation today? ([link removed])

I was hopping around the web, looking for scholarships and opportunities to continue towards my master’s in social work degree when I stumbled upon Immigrants Rising’s website. I found the scholarship list to be incredibly helpful, but I also saw how they were creating spaces for undocumented parents like me.

As a new mother, I quickly realized how important it is to have these networks of moms and parents for advice and support. But here in Florida, it’s difficult to come by other parents who know what it’s like to be undocumented. This support group came into my life at the right moment as the group created a culture of welcoming and a genuine respect for privacy where I felt safe.

With your small donation, Immigrants Rising can create more opportunities for single moms like me. ([link removed])

Being part of this group affirmed my inspiration to continue my journey onto master’s of social work so that I can create more opportunities like this for undocumented parents like me, and I’m excited to see Immigrants Rising continuing to be part of my journey of growth.

With love and appreciation,

Sara
