This month’s goal is particularly important because it coincides with the end of the FEC fundraising quarter and the end of the calendar year. That means that the numbers Elaine publicly reports will set the tone for the 2022 election year -- and it is absolutely essential that Elaine is in a strong position heading into the midterm elections.

Elaine has always been a top target for Republicans -- she holds one of the toughest battleground seats in the nation. And in the wake of Republican Governor-elect Glenn Youngkin’s victory, many Republicans see Virginia as ground zero for flipping the House Majority in their favor.

We can’t let that happen -- protecting voting rights, ensuring women’s reproductive freedom, acting on climate change, and raising the minimum wage are all in jeopardy if Republicans take back control of the House.

And we really can’t afford to lose Elaine. She was ranked the second most effective Member of the House, and I’ve seen her skills firsthand. Her presence is critical to getting things done in Congress.
