John,
In 2022, we will do proactive work to fight for reproductive freedom in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida, but we’re giving our supporters a backstage pass to preview a few of our biggest priority states of 2022: Texas, Ohio, Georgia, Iowa, and Michigan.
But before I tell you why we're making those our priority states, I want to ask you for a favor.
As we gear up for an even more difficult year in reproductive rights and justice in 2022, we need your support now to plan for the fights ahead. That's why we're hoping you can help us close the $3000 gap in our December budget.
A recurring gift of $5 helps us fight for all people in America to have full, unrestricted legal access to abortion and reproductive healthcare services that are safe, accessible, affordable, and destigmatized.
Today, let’s focus on Texas and why the lone star state is still number one on our list.
Texas is a huge priority for #VOTEPROCHOICE as we begin candidate recruitment in January since Texas has an early primary on March 1st! (If you'd like to run for any public office in Texas, click here!)
In 2021, Texas introduced 50 abortion-related restrictions, and with SB8 still in effect, we need leaders at every level who will protect patients and providers however possible.
Texas is also a ‘trigger ban’ state, which means if and when Roe v. Wade is overturned, nearly all abortions will immediately be banned automatically.
To date, #VOTEPROCHOICE has endorsed and coached a total of 69 candidates in Texas, and we plan to increase this number in just a few weeks' time.
To support our work in Texas, please consider making a recurring contribution here.
Thank you so much,
Sara Tabatabaie
