Well, John — fully aware that 26 states are likely to ban abortion if given the chance, a majority of the Supreme Court justices indicated this month that they’re ready to overturn Roe v Wade. But we have a plan to fight back.
Right-wing extremists are using the Supreme Court to attack our most basic human rights. But we can fight back.
Help Take Back the Court meet our $50,000 matching goal by midnight on December 31!

If there was ever a time to wrench the Court from the grip of an extremist right-wing Republican agenda, it’s right now.
We must add four seats to the Court in 2022 and stop the far-right majority from doing any more damage.
The Judiciary Act, introduced in both chambers of Congress this year, will do that by expanding and rebalancing the Supreme Court. And we’ve got momentum on our side: public approval of the Supreme Court is at an all-time low (40%, Gallup) and disapproval at an all-time high (53%), with 6 in 10 Americans believing the Court's decisions are based more on the political leanings of justices than the Constitution and the law.
So let’s do it.
Right now, we’re finalizing the details of an aggressive plan to expand the Court — but we need your help to hit our fundraising goal before midnight on December 31. Can you give $5 to Take Back the Court today? Every dollar will be matched by a generous donor up to $50,000.
Overreach would be a polite term for how the Court has acted this year — gutting the Voting Rights Act in
Brnovich v DNC, making it harder for workers to organize in
Cedar Point v Hassid, and of course, allowing Texas to ban abortion at 6 weeks. And soon they'll issue a ruling on
Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization — the case that could destroy
Roe.
As Justice Sonia Sotomayor said during arguments in
Dobbs — "Will this institution (The Court) survive the stench that this creates in the public perception ... ?" The Court's job is to protect our fundamental rights — not to follow the whims of a right-wing agenda that’s completely out of step with the American people.
They’re out of control, John — but this movement is growing fast:
- 19 more members of Congress have cosponsored the Judiciary Act, bringing the total number of cosponsors to 49.
- Over 100 organizations have endorsed Supreme Court expansion.
- 75,000 activists like YOU have joined our engaged email community — and more than 26,000 people attended our virtual rally on October 26 on the steps of the Supreme Court.
Our plans to push Congress to get the Judiciary Act to Biden’s desk in 2022 are ambitious and aggressive — but we need support from everyone who’s part of the Take Back the Court community to back it up.
Double your impact now with a $5 contribution to Take Back the Court and let’s smash this $50,000 goal — every donation will be matched dollar-for-dollar thanks to a generous donor.
What a month. What a year! It’s clear that 2022 is going to be even more important in the fight to take back our power on the Court, and I’m ready to fight with everything I’ve got.
Thanks for being here and all you do,
Sarah Lipton-Lubet,
Executive Director, Take Back the Court
