Sailing Through Stormy Waters

The new year approaches. And with it rises a glimmer of hope that the 2022 midterm elections will permit beginning repairs to the dangerous imbalance in our national politics.

The presumption is that only the abject and utter defeat in the coming election of the progressive regime can facilitate restoration of the public preference for honest, open debate over the blind adherence to the Woke and their corrupting narratives on race, gender, and American history.

But the left has had a good, long run across the intellectual landscape of the West and it has asserted dominance over Academia. At the same time—as if of a piece—the media and big business convey a tacit if not explicit thrall to the Communists who rule China and aspire to achieve global hegemony. Little heed do the oligarchs pay to the tyrannies of the communist state or to the virtual if not actual slavery to which they’ve subjected large minorities.

However much polling in America suggests we may be on the cusp of a conservative electoral landslide, the reality is we are in for a long, hard slog. And the going will not be easy.

But we cannot give up.

Nor can we afford to give in.
