Monday Nature Mystery

We are pleased to announce the winner of our Monday Nature Mystery, Erica Garfinkle! Please email us your snail mail address and preference for a hat or tote bag to: [email protected] (mailto:[email protected]?subject=Monday%20Nature%20Mystery%20Winner!)

Congratulations to Erica for correctly identifying the photo of the Snow Goose (Anser caerulescens)! These geese can often be found in corn fields, wetlands, and waterways during the winter months. At one point the population numbers were so low that hunting them was banned. Their numbers have since rebounded. The dark morph of it is aptly named a Blue Goose ([link removed]) .
