I know your inbox is filling up with messages from campaigns all across the country asking you to donate to their FEC goal. But I want to take a moment to explain why I’m hoping that this will be one of the emails you choose to actually make a donation to.

I’m running in a brand new congressional seat in Montana – we’ll have two members in the House for the first time in decades! And we know that the district is winnable for a Democrat like me – and we have a plan to pull it off.

But our opponent is one of the most dangerous people in politics today. Ryan Zinke managed to stand out as one of the most corrupt members of Donald Trump’s cabinet as Secretary of the Interior.

And Zinke already has the backing of Kevin McCarthy and the NRCC – and they’re prepared to do whatever it takes to welcome Zinke back to Washington. Tricking voters with misleading ads, implementing voter suppression tactics, discrediting the election in the media – that’s all on the table.

We’re going to need to stockpile our campaign resources early if we’re going to have a shot at winning this thing. That’s why we’ve set an ambitious $25,000 FEC fundraising goal – and we need to reach it by Friday. Can you chip in $3 to help us get there?

This race is so important. Montana is becoming a playground for the ultra-rich and working folks like you and me are being left behind. We have to clean up Montana’s politics, restore integrity to our government, and ensure that every Montanan lives in dignity.

Not to mention, if we are able to win this election, we’ll have a real chance of keeping the House blue. We know this race will be a bellwether for the midterm election – and I know we can win.
