John, we’ve been talking about Mississippi’s 15-week abortion ban for a few months now — but if you haven’t heard one of the state’s key arguments for overturning Roe v. Wade, listen to this:

Mississippi’s Attorney General told the Supreme Court that banning abortions would “empower women.”

Well, when I read that, it sent my bullsh*t meter off the charts.

Abortion bans don’t “empower women” – they put them in harm’s way and take away their ability to decide their own future. Saying that abortion bans “empower women” shows a callous disregard for the risks of pregnancy and giving birth, health disparities that impact Black moms and babies, and the fact that a person doesn't need to give birth to — as the Mississippi Attorney General says — “have it all.”

In fact, as a doctor who has actually sat down with people making decisions about their pregnancies, I know firsthand that taking away an individual’s choice is the least empowering thing you could do. It is also incredibly dangerous.

Roe v. Wade is under attack like never before, so as a physician and Pennsylvania’s next U.S. Senator, I will do everything I can to enshrine abortion rights into law and protect all reproductive health care.

I’m hoping you’ll help me get there. Can you chip in any amount to our campaign so I can work to codify Roe v. Wade and fight back against attacks on reproductive health care?
