Watch Senator and presidential candidate Cory Booker school Meghan McCain while talking about gun violence on The View >> [link removed]

Not all of us watch The View, but everyone should watch Senator Cory Booker’s recent interview — where he dodges unwarranted attacks from host Meghan McCain to speak on the gun violence epidemic in our country.
Although you should 100-percent watch the three-minute clip, here are our favorite takeaways:
McCain repeatedly tries to use divisive language often wielded by the National Rifle Association to claim Booker and other politicians want to “take away” people’s guns.
But Booker immediately points out how inaccurate that narrative is, saying, “All Americans agree on gun licensing — 70, 80 percent do — [all] agree on background checks. We can do this. We are a bigger country than this.”
Then, he paints a picture of America that all of us are aware of but not everyone (*cough cough McCain cough*) wants to accept: America has a real issue with guns, and it’s literally killing us.
“We as the strongest nation on planet Earth have told our children, ‘We can’t protect you, so we’re going to teach you how to hide,’” Booker said, “So if I’m president of the United States, as a guy who has lived with gun violence... I’m not letting ourselves be divided by false arguments.”
Mic DROP.
We couldn’t agree more with Senator Booker, and that’s why we’re asking you to sign our petition if you agree politicians should address the gun violence epidemic with real solutions. Add your name today >> [link removed]
