Philadelphia is a historic city with a great progressive history of labor organization and political activism. Today, it is representative of much of the country, it needs investment in public infrastructure, social services, public education, and is already feeling the serious effects of the global climate crisis through flooding and heatwaves.
Right now too many of Philly’s politicians are unmotivated cogs of machine politics who don’t really represent the needs and opinions of the city or its citizens. These issues need ambitious progressive leadership to break with the old guard and plot a new way forward. Alexandra Hunt can be that leader.
