Hey John, Jesse here, Jamaal's Finance Director.
Today I'm reaching out to kick off our final fundraising push of 2021 and announce our FEC end-of-year goal of an additional $75,000 in email fundraising before the clock strikes midnight on December 31.
John, these next 5 days are our last chance to build up our grassroots strength to show the establishment and our opponents that our movement is stronger than ever and we're not going anywhere soon. Can we count on you to be one of the many supporters we need to kick off our fundraising with a donation of $3 or more in order to help us reach our end-of-year goal of raising $75,000 over email by midnight on Friday?
It's no surprise that 2022 is going to be a whirlwind of a year for our progressive movement. Not only will we be settling into a new year of opportunities but also a new year of obstacles that we need to be prepared for — starting right now. The whole world will be looking at our movement to see how strong our fundraising is and how resilient our movement has remained in the face of adversity. We will report our fundraising numbers for this quarter in January so this is our last chance to scare off any new opponents with the strength of our fundraising.
In 2022, our movement will need to grapple with the results of the new redistricting maps and challengers to Jamaal's seat. And all the while, we'll need to continue ramping up our outreach efforts to reach new potential voters who may not know who Jamaal is just yet. Long story short: we have a lot of hard work ahead of us.
But the good news is, all year our grassroots movement has continued to show up for our progressive movement. We've raised over fifty thousand dollars in support for mutual aid organizations in our community and our progressive allies. And we're dedicated to continuing to pave the way for progressive ideals to flourish in our communities and our government systems.
Our ability to mobilize and organize at a moment's notice in support of Jamaal and our progressive movement fully depends on the strength of our fundraising, John.
