Your tax-deductible gift today will support the Council's Immigration Justice Campaign, which works to mobilize volunteer attorneys around the country to fight for immigrants.
Everyone deserves the chance to pursue their immigration case in a safe and healthy environment outside of detention, with a lawyer by their side.
Throughout 2021, the Immigration Justice Campaign:
- Mobilized to demand the release of Haitian asylum seekers who were denied access to counsel and adequate interpretation in a remote New Mexico facility that failed its government inspection.
- Launched 4 new pro bono projects in 6 states to serve the 13,000 asylum seekers formerly subjected to the “Remain in Mexico” policy.
- Made the case for community-based case management and universal legal representation in place of costly and inhumane detention.
- Documented ICE field offices that were not complying with new prosecutorial discretion policies.
