Yesterday, the United States formally notified the United Nations that we will be leaving the Paris Climate Accords — officially abdicating our position of leadership on the world stage.
This begins a one-year long process to renege on our commitments, to anger our allies, and to give other world powers an excuse to continue destroying this planet.
As our neighbors experience increasingly catastrophic wildfires every year, it’s clear that the climate crisis is already at our doorstep. Ignoring it won’t make things go away — it will only condemn us to a worse future.
Unlike Trump, Ro’s not sitting on the sidelines. From fighting to make PG&E a public-owned utility to pushing for 100% renewable energy in California by 2045, Ro’s standing up for bold, courageous action on climate change.
There is opportunity in this catastrophe. We can save our planet for future generations while creating new economic growth and good jobs along the way — but only if we do it right, and we take bold action.
These challenging times demand bold champions for our climate — not people who only wish to ignore reality and take us backwards.
In solidarity,
Team Ro
