John,
Over 45 million people owe more than $1.8 trillion dollars in student loan debt right now — many of whom were just 18-year-olds when they took on thousands of dollars of debt.
The Biden administration just extended the pause on student loan payments through May 1, 2022. And while this is a win for folks everywhere, it’s really the bare minimum President Biden could do amidst the latest surge of Omicron cases.
President Biden has a moral, political, and economic obligation to cancel student loan debt.
No person should have to go into debt to get an education. If you’re with us, can you join us and call on President Joe Biden to use his executive authority to cancel student loan debt once and for all?

It’s critical that we keep up the pressure on President Biden and show the administration that we’re not satisfied with an extension — we demand student loan debt cancellation.
We need a permanent solution to this crushing, debilitating, and generational problem. Americans spend their lifetimes paying off their student loan debt. According to the Roosevelt Institute, if Joe Biden were to permanently cancel even $50,000 of debt per borrower, the wealth of Black Americans would increase by 40%.
Sign the petition: Tell Joe Biden to use his executive power to cancel student loan debt right now and give millions of Americans their economic mobility and economic future back.
