Council on Criminal Justice Elects SAM President Dr. Kevin Sabet as Member

(Alexandria, VA) - Today, Dr. Kevin Sabet, president of Smart Approaches to Marijuana (SAM), was elected to be a member of the Council on Criminal Justice (CCJ), the nation's leading independent criminal justice think tank. The organization "works to advance understanding of the criminal justice policy choices facing the nation and build consensus for solutions that enhance safety and justice for all." The CCJ's current members include former Governor of California Jerry Brown, US Senator Mike Lee, former LAPD Chief Charlie Beck, and former White House Drug Czar Gil Kerlikowske.
"I am grateful to the Council on Criminal Justice for electing me to become a member," said Dr. Kevin Sabet. "Our nation is facing complex criminal justice problems that need to be addressed. The Council on Criminal Justice has taken on that task, and I am excited to be part of it."
He also serves as a term member at the Council on Foreign Relations.
