Friends,
This year, I am so proud of the work we’ve accomplished together – fighting hard for our community, for our vulnerable neighbors, and for working families. While we still have work to do, I’m proud of all that we’ve accomplished.
Being your Supervisor is a responsibility I don’t take lightly, and I’m humbled to wake up every morning and keep making District 10 a more safe, just, and thriving community.
There are many things I’m proud of, some highlights include:
- Launching the Bayview Essential Services Hub to provide access to healthcare providers and vaccinations, food distribution, employment support. The new Hub is now equipped to help residents access financial subsidies for rent, internet access for low-income youth, and full-day educational programming.
- Creating an equitable and accessible vaccination program. 81% of San Franciscans are fully vaccinated, beating President Biden’s goal of reaching 70% vaccination, and making us the state’s second most vaccinated county.
- Securing over $20 million in funding for rent relief and social housing to assist renters and low-income workers through the San Francisco Family Relief Fund.
- Creating our City’s African American Reparations Advisory Committee. I am proud to have led the creation of this task force–one of the first of its kind–to study financial compensation, community programs, and other innovative ideas to create a reparations plan for Black folks.
All of this was possible thanks to the support that our community has shown us, and has shown each other. It’s been my honor to advocate for our community on the Board of Supervisors, but I’ll need your help to keep doing this in 2022.
Will you help me continue to fight for our District 10 community by contributing today to my final fundraising push of 2021? GIVE NOW » I have always approached my role as Supervisor knowing that I am only as strong as the community behind me. From the start, we’ve relied on grassroots support to help us make change, and we’re still doing that today. This is my final donation push for 2021 and I would deeply appreciate it if you could pitch in before our deadline on the 31st. GIVE NOW » Thank you,
Shamann
