Dear John,

Over the past two years, it's been clearer than ever that our healthcare system is broken. During a global pandemic, too many Americans did not receive the care that they needed because they could not afford it. It's unacceptable — and I’m fighting to fix it.

This spring, my Democratic colleagues and I passed the American Rescue Plan which was an important step towards ensuring that every family had the coverage they needed. The House also passed the Build Back Better Act which includes key Medicaid expansion provisions and regulates prescription drug costs.

But while we’ve been working towards universal coverage, Republicans have been doing everything they can to block us. The 2022 midterms are coming up quickly, and if Republicans win a majority, they’ll undo all the progress we’ve made.

Funding our public health infrastructure — such as free COVID-19 tests and vaccines — lowering prescription drug prices, and expanding Medicaid and Medicare will save lives. Republicans in Congress don’t care.

Thanks,
Judy
