Today I am asking you to make your first contribution. Before you go on with your day, I hope you’ll let me explain why this request – particularly today – is so important to the success of our campaign.

Here it goes:

At the end of this week, we face our first, full quarterly FEC fundraising deadline. A lot of people are going to be watching to see what numbers we report – everyone from our allies to the media to our opponents.

This Senate race is one of our best chances to flip a seat in 2022, and how much money we raise is one of the ways others will measure our ability to defeat Ron Johnson.

We need to put up the largest numbers possible, so we’ve set a big goal of 5,000 donations between today and when the deadline ends.

As you know, I’m not taking any corporate PAC money. Instead, I’m counting on lots of people chipping in to ensure our campaign has the resources required to win. That’s why I need to ask:
