South Texas is taking center stage in the battle for the soul of the Democratic Party as progressive Jessica Cisneros takes on Rep. Henry Cuellar in a closely watched rematch.
Bloomberg reported:
Anyone expecting a repeat of 2020 “might be in for a little bit of a surprise,” said Jon Taylor, a political scientist at the University of Texas at San Antonio. After Cisneros’ strong showing in 2020, Cuellar “is not going to take her lightly in 2022,” he said.
Cuellar knows what he’s up against – people power. That's why he’s calling his lobbyist friends for help.
Unlike her opponent, Jessica isn’t calling up lobbyists and corporate PACs for massive sums of cash.
She’s relying on the contributions of thousands of grassroots supporters like you so that when she gets to Congress, she won’t owe any special favors to fossil fuel companies or the NRA.
