Friend,

One of my favorite rituals that I come back to every year, right around this time, is to sit down and do some quiet reflection. I ask myself:

What were the highlights of this past year?

What were the toughest moments, and the moments where I learned the most?

Most importantly, what am I taking with me as I set my intentions for the new year?

No need to dance around the facts -- in many ways, for Texans, this year was tougher than most. We not only weathered a second year of a deadly pandemic -- we faced down attack after attack from our own state leadership. Greg Abbott made life as difficult as he possibly could for millions of Texas families. And then he turned around and rubbed salt in the wound and found even more ways to hurt us.

I’m still processing everything Republicans threw at us this year. And if you are too, I can more than understand. But Friend, when I look to 2022, I feel one thing: hope.

The 2022 election is our chance. This is our time to speak up and say hell, no -- to Greg Abbott, to the way he’s weaponizing his government against our people, to a Republican vision for our state that’s small-minded. And when the midterms come around, we’ll have the chance to say hell, yes to a Texas that works for all of us -- where power is finally back in the hands of the people.

That’s a Texas worth fighting for. And if we can dream it, we can build it.

You’re at the very heart of this movement, and that’s why I’m asking you to lay the next brick on the foundation today. Join me in the fight by chipping in your first $7 or whatever you can to our 2022 Victory Fund before our critical end-of-year deadline:

If 2021 was about weathering the attacks of a desperate and dangerous governor, 2022 is about breaking this cycle -- definitively. It’s about working for the better future we know is possible -- for our families, our communities, and the millions of people in this state who deserve better. The millions of Texans who deserve to finally get their hands on some hope.

Friend, my intentions are clear. In 2022, I’m going to put all my effort into winning and making that hope a reality in Texas.

It’s going to take work. And it’s going to be worth it.

I hope you’ll join me.

In service and hope,

Jamarr Brown
