Working with more than 200 organizations from across the Upper Peninsula and Michigan in a campaign to expand Federal Wilderness areas across the region.

** Protecting the Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife & Fish Refuge ([link removed])

Won preliminary injunction to halt a high-voltage transmission line from cutting through the Driftless Area, Upper Mississippi River National Wildlife & Fish Refuge, and other nationally protected waterways.

** Protecting the Driftless Area ([link removed])

Built a bipartisan coalition to support ([link removed]) investments in the Driftless Area Landscape Conservation Initiative Act in Congress to improve management of working lands, woodlands, prairies, and cold water streams in the ecologically-unique Driftless Area.

** EXPANDING RENEWABLE ENERGY ACROSS THE REGION

** Thinking Beyond Wires and Modernizing our Grid ([link removed])

By incorporating modern advanced transmission technologies, the nation can move toward a cleaner, greener grid that reduces waste and relieves energy congestion.

** Suing Iowa Utilities Board for Refusal to Evaluate MidAmerican Coal Plants ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

Taking on a board that refused to consider evidence about the economic benefits of retiring coal plants, a move that could save Iowans $1.2 billion ([link removed]) .

** Helped Pass Landmark Illinois Clean Energy Law ([link removed])

Working with our coalition partners, we helped advance a landmark new energy law moving Illinois forward with clean energy, efficiency, equity, and jobs.

** FIGHTING TO PROTECT COMMUNITIES AND PUBLIC HEALTH

** Standing in Solidarity with Southeast Side of Chicago Against Pollution Burdens ([link removed])

Southeast Side residents face pollution from General Iron, a metal scrapping facility, and an expanded waste dump on the lakeshore, where they were supposed to get a park ([link removed]) .

** Connecting Communities to Technology to Understand Air Quality ([link removed])

Partnered with Microsoft Research’s Urban Innovation team and community organizations to deploy a network of stationary air quality sensors on 100 bus shelters throughout Chicago.

** Advocating for Thoughtful Public Transportation Funding in Chicago ([link removed])

We advocated for RTA to use a transparent, data-driven approach that includes transit propensity, regional equity, racial equity, and more to evaluate mobility outcomes.

** Accelerating Rollout of Electric School Buses ([link removed])

Pushing for the rapid expansion of electric school buses in communities that need them most,like Pekin, IL. ([link removed]) Our children deserve a clean, zero-emission ride to school.

** PROTECTING THE GREAT LAKES AND SAFE CLEAN WATER

** Climate Crisis to Be Considered in Line 5 Tunnel Case ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

Presented expert witnesses to demonstrate the link between the construction of a new tunnel for Line 5 under the Straits of Mackinac and climate change.

** Cleaning Up Lake Erie ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

Our Clean Water Act lawsuit is forcing the federal government and Ohio to finally develop a clean-up plan necessary to remedy Lake Erie’s toxic algae blooms.

** Permanently Protected Thunder Bay National Marine Sanctuary ([link removed])
------------------------------------------------------------

This victory set national precedent leveraging protection for 10 other National Marine Sanctuaries and National Marine Monuments threatened with cuts and drilling.
