- Revealed Sen. Manchin’s climate conflicts of interest. Manchin is single-handedly holding up President Biden’s climate crisis response in the Senate. CMD co-published an exposé with The Guardian documenting his family's multi-million dollar investments in a coal brokerage, and his additional ties to the industry and ALEC, one of its leading front groups.
- Blew the whistle on an ALEC and Big Oil scheme to use unions to help criminalize pipeline protests. CMD published a report on how ALEC is working with the oil industry to get trade unions to help enact sweeping new anti-protest laws in blue states, under the guise of protecting worker “safety.”
