Dear Friend,
2021 has been a historic year. A wave of worker organizing is shifting the tide, building a movement toward an economy that works for all of us. But the pandemic rages on, the climate crisis intensifies rapidly, and all the while, corporations like Amazon take advantage.
In the past two years, Amazon more than tripled their profits and dramatically expanded their network at the expense of working people. Six Amazon workers were killed on the job this month when a tornado hit a warehouse in Edwardsville, Illinois, because they weren’t allowed to leave.
This is unacceptable. We can’t let it happen again. Join us in making a New Year’s resolution to take action against Amazon. |

We at ALIGN are proud to have won many victories in 2021: we passed the landmark NY HERO Act, ensuring that workers are protected from airborne illnesses like COVID-19; we developed a Green Healthy Schools action plan to create good, union jobs and safeguard our students; and we launched a coalition to fight back against Amazon’s growing power. But there is much more to be done.
Amazon represents everything we stand against at ALIGN. Anti-union. Profit over people. Expanding their footprint without regard for the community, the environment.
In 2022, we have big plans to show Amazon that New Yorkers won’t stand for their abuse. We are fighting for the state to hold them accountable, stop their monopoly power in our region, and protect the health and safety of warehouse workers.
