Not sure where or how to vote? We’ve got you covered:

Today is Election Day, John.

The polls are open right now, so please make a plan to vote, then go put your plan into action. That’s all you have to do today (really).

Your vote matters, John. Women are a majority of voters and, when we show up at the polls, we can decide the outcome of an election. When we don’t, we let special interests win and are left with politicians who won’t fight for justice.

Not sure where or how to vote? We’ve got you covered:

  1. Find out what’s on the ballot, check your voter registration, and sign up for reminders here.
  2. Find your polling place here and make a plan to vote.

Oh, and please remind your friends and family to vote, too!

There are so many races on the ballot today that will have an enormous impact on our communities. Here are just a few:

  • Prosecutors and sheriffs: Approximately 500 prosecutors (or district attorneys) and sheriffs are on the ballot today. They are the gatekeepers of our criminal legal system and have the power to set policies that impact detention conditions, incarceration rates, cooperation with ICE, and more. Yet these races often don’t get the attention they deserve.
  • Virginia Legislature: Democrats have the chance to take majority control of the Virginia State Legislature for the first time in decades, which would open the door for major legislation including gun control, protections against discrimination based on sexual orientation, a higher minimum wage, and passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.
  • Governor races: Mississippi and Kentucky will vote to elect their next Governor. While these states are traditionally right-leaning, the two candidates in Mississippi were essentially tied leading up to the election. Not surprisingly, Trump was in Kentucky last night rallying for the Republican candidate.
  • Many many more!

Municipal elections may not get the same attention as the presidential race, but they matter a whole lot. Add your name here and pledge to vote today.

Today also marks less than one year away from the 2020 election – and we’ve got a lot of work to do in the next year to kick Trump out of the White House once and for all.

All around the world from Lebanon to Ecuador, we’ve seen what’s possible when outraged citizens demand change.

It will take all of us rising up at the ballot box (starting today) and taking to the streets in order to build the movement we need to defeat Trump and take back our democracy.

Let’s get to work.
