Hey John,
We can all agree that 2021 has been quite the year. COVID-19 vaccines became widely available to Americans, Kamala Harris became the first woman VP in our country’s history and America won 39 gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics.
As we look back on the year, we’re reminded of all the exciting things that have happened in Kansas City. Here are our top five highlights:
1) Our Kansas City Chiefs went to the Super Bowl for the second year in a row!
2) Zero Fare Transit gained steam nationwide, and we scored significant federal funding to expand the KC Streetcar in both directions.
3) We hosted the World Cup Selection Committee in Kansas City as they consider our community to host the 2026 World Cup games.
4) The President visited Kansas City and discussed our Zero Fare and Zero Emissions public transit initiatives.
5) Kansas City’s new state-of-the-art airport terminal remains on time and on budget, with a strong local workforce and more than 100 minority-owned business enterprises and woman-owned business enterprises involved in the project.
As we gear up for the end of the year and look ahead to 2022, we hope you’ll chip in to help us reach our end-of-year goal (we’re getting close!) of $7,500.
