2021 A Year in Review
We accomplished so much together this past year. From rallying against pipelines to exposing the suffering caused by factory farm pollution, and more — YOU showed up, YOU fought for our food, water and climate, and because of YOU, we’re winning.
Your efforts led to countless victories! Here are a few:
* Won a landmark lawsuit in the 9th Circuit to force the EPA to enforce the Clean Water Act and require factory farms in Idaho to monitor and report on their water pollution. This is a major blow against industrial agriculture with broad national implications.
* Successfully pressured EPA through our legal action to update its outdated water pollution standards for the slaughterhouse industry, a leading source of water pollution across the U.S.
* Achieved a permanent ban on fracking in the Delaware River Basin.
* Won a directive from California Governor Newsom to implement a fracking ban by January 1, 2024.
* Defeated proposed fracked gas power plants in Newburgh and Queens, New York, and Charles City County, Virginia, after years of working with frontline communities and grassroots coalitions.
* Organized rallies, petition deliveries and other actions outside key congressional offices across the country to call for an end to fossil fuel subsidies in any federal infrastructure package.
* Helped organize the historic People vs. Fossil Fuels Week of Action in D.C. to demand that President Biden reject fossil fuel projects and declare a climate emergency!
On top of all that, your support helps power:
25 active lawsuits to protect our environment
792 volunteers fighting alongside Food & Water Watch
~8k unique media hits across the country
The passion you bring to the fight for our food, water and climate makes all of our victories possible!
With your support, we look forward to even greater successes in 2022!
