Dear fellow American, 

Anti-Americanism has long been evident in higher education. But recently, it has spread from college campuses to other areas of American life.

Today it asserts itself in many forms—including critical race theory—in our government, in our K-12 schools, in our corporations, in the media, in sports, and even in our military. 

The recent election in Virginia brought the corruption of American K-12 education, in particular, to the forefront of our national conversation.

The breakdown (especially among younger Americans) of informed patriotism—without which self-government is impossible—is not something we can allow to continue.

While there is reason to remain hopeful, there is much work to be done to reverse the current trends in the months and years ahead.

Education is where this attack on America began—and it is the battlefield on which we must engage the Left in defense of liberty and limited constitutional government. 

Hillsdale College has been deeply engaged in this battle for decades. We are now determined, with the help of supporters like you, who agree with Hillsdale’s mission, to redouble our efforts at this crucial time for our nation—no matter the cost.

That’s why we have set a goal to raise $5.5 million online by December 31 to expand our Project to Defend Liberty Nationwide by Reaching and Teaching Millions in 2022.

This vital project will give informed patriots across the country the effective ability to defend liberty through education. And we need your help.

The project has three key objectives: 

1. Expand the circulation of Imprimis, our digest of liberty, to reach millions more Americans.  
   
   
2. Increase the number of citizens (especially younger Americans) enrolling in our free online courses, such as “Constitution 101: The Meaning and History of the Constitution,” “The Great American Story: A Land of Hope,” and our newest course, “American Citizenship and Its Decline” with Victor Davis Hanson.   


3. Launch additional Hillsdale-affiliated classical K-12 charter schools nationwide and provide, free of charge, our American classical K-12 curriculum (including the new Hillsdale 1776 Curriculum) to thousands more American teachers and homeschoolers.

As I’ve written to you in the past, Hillsdale College conducts its educational outreach efforts on behalf of liberty—as it does all of its work—while refusing to accept one penny of government funding, not even indirectly in the form of federal or state student grants or loans.  

So, to meet our ambitious year-end funding goal, we will need thousands of gifts between $25 and $100. This is the range in which most supporters give. We will also need a significant number of $500 to $1,000 donations. But contributions of any size are appreciated.
