In another difficult year for many, we've gathered up our hopes, joys, and sorrows and brought them expectantly to the manger. And here we find God's newborn response. To paraphrase Athanasius, the One who is utterly powerful, holy, inexorable, becomes vulnerable, that all which is vulnerable might, through his meekness, be transformed into his likeness and share his glory. Thanks be to God!
