Dear John,

The holidays are a time of joy, reflection, and gratitude. This year I am truly grateful for my experience here at MPAC. As an Italian that was raised Catholic, the opportunity to bring Muslims and Christians closer, to experience one another, has been transformative.

Many of you are familiar with the verse of the mustard seed in the Quran but might be surprised to know we share a similar verse in the Bible. Both remind us that even the smallest act of compassion can bring about invaluable transformation. And that’s what The Mustard Seed Project ([link removed]) is all about, compassion and invaluable transformation.

Together with One America Movement and the Diane Mott Trust, MPAC’s Mustard Seed Project brings Muslims and Evangelical Christians together to address misconceptions and stereotypes. By changing people’s experiences, directly with each other at the same table, to talk, learn, and share a meal, we build meaningful bridges of understanding.

In a highly polarized and tense climate, we are humbled by the enormous success we’ve seen, one small act of compassion at a time. Earlier this year we planted a seed of change and are so proud to watch the fruits of those labors grow.
