The New York Times: "Trump Serves Notice to Quit Paris Climate Agreement"

John: Climate change is the single greatest environmental threat to our way of life. It's endangering our public health, our economy and our future.

The climate crisis demands us to take brave and bold action. Instead, this week President Trump has made the shameful and cowardly decision to formally withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement.

We must remain resolute in our efforts to combat climate change. We need to gather 10,000 signatures before the day is over. Add your name next to mine now.

Nearly 200 countries have joined the Paris accord. By backing out of this historic international agreement, President Trump is not only threatening the very future of our planet; he's also reducing America's standing as a global leader and abandoning the opportunity to create millions of good paying clean energy jobs here in the United States.

Now it's on us. Let's send a strong message to the world. Let's take a clear stand and commit to tackling the climate crisis head on.

Future generations are counting on us, and they will remember what we did -- or what we failed to do -- to address the greatest environmental challenge of our time. If Trump won't take action, then we must.
