Last week, Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren released her plan for Medicare for all -- and how we will pay for it. Under her plan, every person in America will have good, high-quality health insurance, and the middle class won’t see their taxes go up at all. Instead of employers continuing to pay premiums to private for-profit insurance companies, they will pay them directly to Medicare as one of the main sources of revenue to cover the costs. Warren wrote further that we could make up the difference via “targeted spending cuts, new taxes on giant corporations, Wall Street, and the richest 1%, and cracking down on tax evasion and fraud.”
