Right now, Amalgamated Transit Union (ATU) members at Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority’s (WMATA’s) Cinder Bed Road facility are on strike. These contract workers wear the same uniforms, drive the same buses and do the same work as direct WMATA employees—but they’re paid much less.
