Holidays at the end of the year are for sharing, reflecting, and renewing our care for one another. We know that the holiday season can be particularly hard for those who have lost loved ones, who are separated from their family and friends, or who don't find acceptance or love from their communities.

 

Whether you’re celebrating with relatives, chosen family, or in isolation at home, we wanted to take a moment to share how thankful we are for #NLCFamily.

Families aren’t just made up of the kin we hold dear, but all of the folks we love and embrace too. NLC provides a ‘chosen family’ for our Fellows, volunteers, and alumni. #NLCFamily offers what can be so rare to find: radical acceptance, fellowship, and care for community. In this nationwide network, we come together as perfectly imperfect individuals to form a tight-knit collective. We unite across identities, industries, and issues with the goal of moving our communities forward.

We are thankful for a community that not only celebrates success together, but also grieves, strategizes, and mobilizes together too. Our alumni, volunteers, and Fellows know that there is no problem too big that we can’t take on together. We know that with enough perspective, enough love, and enough creativity, that no solution is out of reach.

 

Our best days are ahead of us, Friend, and we are looking forward to the progress that 2022 promises, including the newest additions to the #NLCFamily.
