John - It’s been nearly a year since Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi, and Chuck Schumer have held total control of Washington. If you ever wanted a glimpse at what happens when the radical left holds all the levers of our government, this year gives you exactly that. This is the Year-in-Review for Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi. And this is what I’ve done to fight back. BIDEN’S BORDER CRISIS Joe Biden repealed every single policy President Trump implemented to combat illegal immigration and the results speak for themselves. During Biden’s first year in office, we saw the highest number of encounters with illegal immigrants in a fiscal year (1,734,686), surpassing the previous record set in 2000. Under Biden, the monthly numbers rapidly increased: in January 2021 there were 78,414 encounters, the next month there were 101,099 and they only continued to climb, staying above 160,000 per month since March 2021 – in July they peaked at 213,593 encounters with illegal immigrants… in one month. After just nine months since President Biden took office, there were more encounters with illegal immigrants at the border (>1,602,539) than in Trump’s last 25 months in office (1,548,003). This illegal immigration crisis has overwhelmed our border patrol, wreaked havoc in communities in my home state of Texas, enriched the cartels, and flooded our country with deadly fentanyl. That’s why I’m fighting back. I called for Biden’s Homeland Security Secretary to be impeached for deliberately failing to do his job of securing the homeland. I’ve also called on Biden to reimplement the successful Trump policies that finally got illegal immigration under control. ATTACKING AMERICA’S OIL AND GAS INDUSTRY Joe Biden began his administration with an assault on our oil and gas industry. Biden cancelled the Keystone pipeline, outlawed new oil and gas projects on federal lands and waters, made it difficult to invest in new oil and gas projects, and much more. Meanwhile, as Biden was canceling American pipelines, he approved a pipeline for RUSSIA into Europe. As a result, we’ve seen the highest gas prices in years and Americans are facing rising energy prices just as we’re entering winter. This is what happens when radical environmentalists run the government. I’ve fought back by introducing legislation to overturn these regulations, including the ban on oil and gas drilling on federal lands and waters. I’ve also exposed the truth about the left’s radical climate agenda, which is causing your energy prices to rise and destroying American energy independence. UNCONSTITUTIONAL VACCINE MANDATES After politicizing the COVID vaccines President Trump got across the finish line under Operation Warp Speed, Joe Biden has sought to demonize unvaccinated Americans. Biden even went as far as implementing an unconstitutional vaccine mandate that would punish businesses for not forcing their employees to get vaccinated. Biden’s vaccine mandates have exacerbated a labor shortage, made it harder for businesses to keep their doors open, and forced our hospitals to operate under-staffed because health care workers are getting fired because they choose not to get the vaccine. Since Joe Biden implemented his unconstitutional vaccine mandate, I’ve fought back. I introduced the Prevent Unconstitutional Vaccine Mandates for Interstate Commerce Act, which would prohibit the federal government from requiring proof of vaccination or the use of a vaccine passport to engage in interstate commerce. I also pushed back on Department of Defense leadership punishing our service members who choose not to receive a COVID-19 vaccine. And I supported legislation that passed the Senate that would stop this vaccine mandate in its tracks, which Nancy Pelosi refuses to bring to the floor of the House of Representatives. This vaccine mandate is unconstitutional and must be stopped. RISING CRIME There has been a frightening rise in crime across the country, just as liberal local leaders have implemented soft-on-crime policies like defund the police and radical bail reform policies. Remember, Nancy Pelosi excused the riots last summer by saying “people will do what they do” while radical members of Pelosi’s caucus called for the defunding of police. These actions have consequences. In Houston, Texas, our city recorded more than 540 murders as of November, which marks a 21% increase over 2020’s rate. According to the Houston Chronicle, the number of defendants who have committed new crimes while out on bail has tripled since 2015. That’s why I’ve pushed back against the left’s defund the police movement and have called for the left to take crime seriously by repealing pro-crime policies like bail reform. I’ve also highlighted how people like George Soros are pushing millions of dollars into the campaigns of liberal prosecutors who implement policies that put communities at risk. This is what we’ve seen during Joe Biden’s first year in office. These policies are bad for our economy, American families, and the safety of our country and our communities. We will never hold the Biden Administration accountable while Nancy Pelosi is Speaker. That’s why we need to redouble our efforts to fire Nancy Pelosi and take back the House in 2022. Once we do that, Republicans will hold Joe Biden accountable and push for policies that will unwind some of the damage done during his first year in office. But it’s not just about Congress. You need to get involved at the local level to defeat the politicians who have let crime run rampant across the country. We can’t do any of this without your support.
